The Spitfire sound collection includes 280 clips in 12.92 gigabytes of audio.
The sound library features the 1943 British Supermarine World War II Mk IX PV202 H5R model aircraft and its 1,720 horsepower Rolls-Royce Merlin 66 V12 engine with a Bendix-Stromberg injection carburettor and a Dowty Rotol propeller.
The field recordings collect 20 takes of static and flying takes. Six onboard perspectives mounted in the cockpit, engine, and exhaust depict flying at fast and slow speeds, taking off, landing, and taxing.
The seven exterior perspectives showcase the plane at three positions and a variety of distances passing by, taxiing, and lifting off and setting down.
Also included are static idles, blips, and a suite of performed effects of rudder and flap movement, and more.
