WW2 Sound Effects

WW2 sound effects from the real hardware. Rifles, pistols and submachine guns from the period, fired at different distances and handled in close detail, every click of the mechanism. A wartime tank driving, its radial engine and all the clatter that goes with it. A piston-engined fighter taxiing and roaring past. Even the tick of engines cooling down after a long drive.

Period weapons sound different to modern ones. Older actions are heavier and clunkier, with bolts and catches that clack and grind. The firearm recordings here range from single shots to automatic fire at several distances, and the foley libraries go deep on handling: loading, cycling a Bolt Action, cloth and kit movement, and the small mechanical noises in between. The vehicles bring the rest of the battlefield. A tank with its Radial Engine working hard, a vintage fighter making its passes, and engines crackling as they cool. War films, documentaries and historical shooters use them, alongside wider World War 2 material.
