Tank sound effects, mostly the armoured kind. Engines roaring, tracks squealing and clanking, turrets turning and the main gun going off with a thump you feel in your chest, recorded at real military exercises and gathered in big warfare collections. Loud. A few other tanks sneak in as well, scuba air tanks and big metal containers among them.

A tank is several sounds at once. The engine, a deep diesel or a roaring old petrol, sits under everything. The Track links squeal, slap and grind as it moves, and they carry most of the character. Then the Turret traverse whines and the gun fires, with the shell landing somewhere far off. Some sets even include impulse responses captured inside a tank, so dialogue can sound like it's coming from the crew compartment. War films and military games use the lot, often with Artillery rumbling in the background.
