Pebble Sound Effects

Pebble sound effects from the hand and from the shore. Pebbles dropped, tossed, poured, shaken and rolled across all sorts of surfaces, stone chips hitting a car, footsteps out on gravel. Then the beach. Waves on the shore from gentle ripples to storm surf, and rivers from trickles to full flow, with plenty of the water ready to loop.

A pebble on its own is a foley prop, and a beach full of them is an ambience. The prop side is well covered, with drops, hits, scrapes, slides and pours recorded from several perspectives, plus Rock and stone sets for heavier pieces. Paths too. Footsteps over gravel and forest floors come as loops and as single steps. For the bigger picture there are waves recorded on coasts around the world, from calm to stormy, and Shoreline ambiences along cliffs and caves. A stone skimmed across a pond or a handful thrown at a window is easy to build from the close recordings.
