AMBISONIC ATMOSPHERES OF URBAN AND TROPICAL THAILAND

Ambiences of Thailand is a collection of authentic soundscapes recorded across Bangkok, coastal towns and rural regions of Thailand. The library explores environments such as streets and intersections, markets, restaurants, temples, transportation hubs, parks and tropical nature.

Bangkok is present in all its density, with multi-lane intersections, scooters and tuk-tuks, the constant rumble of the city and its religious sites. Various types of transportation sounds are covered, ranging from airport halls and railway stations to metro rides. Beyond the cities, the library moves to more rural areas, coastal markets and the jungle, with bird calls and nature sounds. A number of recordings are delivered in ambisonic AmbiX format and include decoded stereo files for immediate use across different workflows. Others are provided in stereo only, as discreet recording conditions in certain locations made the use of larger ambisonic setups impractical.

Created in collaboration with Sounds On Air, the recordings were captured during extensive travels across Asia and are designed for flexible use in film, documentary, games, immersive media, radio plays and artistic projects.
