Vegetable Sound Effects

Vegetable sound effects, mostly at the messy end. Here you'll find vegetables crushed, torn, stabbed, squelched and smashed for horror and gore, alongside calmer kitchen work: cutting and chopping. Then there's eating, from soft squishy bites to crisp crunches. The gore side is there to stand in for flesh and bone.

Vegetables have done foley's dirty work for decades. Twist one and it creaks like gristle; snap it and you're into bone crunching territory. The gore recordings here go through the whole menu: Squeeze, peel, rip, stab, hit and drop on the floor, across plenty of fruit too. For a cooking scene, the cutting recordings were made in a treated studio, so they sit cleanly in a quiet kitchen. The eating side covers open and closed mouth chewing, soft to crunchy, which helps when a Bite has to be close and believable. A few wider collections sit alongside, one with a supermarket's tills and fridges.
