Storage Compartment Sound Effects

Storage Compartment sound effects from cars and motorbikes. Glove boxes clicking open and dropping down, and the hinged seat on a scooter popping up over the space beneath it. Soft-close lids on newer cars, rattlier catches on the classics. Small stuff. It's the foley that makes a vehicle feel lived in, recorded on everything from vintage saloons to city scooters.

Most of these come from vehicle libraries that record the whole car or bike, so the storage compartment sits alongside everything else a driver touches. That helps when you need a matched set. The glove box and the Handbrake come from the same cabin, so they sound like they belong together. On motorbikes and scooters the storage usually sits under the seat, recorded next to the Side Stand and the rest of the bike's foley. Old plastic sounds brittle. New plastic sounds damped and expensive, and the difference tells an audience what kind of car they're sitting in. Driving games use them for detail, and films use them when someone hunts for a torch in the dark.
