Splat Sound Effects

Splat sound effects in both flavours, gory and goofy. On the gory side, blood squirts and wet squelches, skull crunches and stabs for horror and fights. On the goofy side, cartoon splats and pops for animation and mobile games. Messy either way. Somewhere in the middle sit mud squishes and splashes, the raw material a lot of good splats get built from.

A splat is a wet impact, and the wetter it is the harder it lands. Some gore libraries come in dry and wet versions, so a hit can stay crunchy or go properly messy, with Blood squirts and slashing laid on top. Comedy splats work the other way round. A pie in the face wants something short and bouncy, often with a Boing or a pop after it, and the cartoon and mobile game sets carry plenty of those. For building your own, mud squishes and splashes from the water recordings layer nicely under either kind, with a little low thump underneath to give the hit some weight.
