Quad Sound Effects

Quad sound effects in both senses of the word. Quad bikes first: all-terrain vehicles recorded driving, with their foley and their mechanical and electrical sounds. Then quad as in surround, with ambiences captured for it. Remote highland wind, rivers and open tundra, plus a working lithographic printing factory, recorded in quad with some stereo versions too.

The quad bike libraries follow a shared pattern of driving, foley, mechanical and electrical recordings, so the engine and the handling details all come from the same machine. That suits trail riding and racing games, with more in ATV and Off-Road. The surround side is a different job. Quad recordings cover the front and the back of a space, which is handy for games and installations. The highland ambiences run through different wind strengths with rivers and streams nearby, and the printing factory gives an industrial room to stand right in the middle of.
