Headlight Sound Effects

Headlight sound effects, which mostly means the switch and the mechanism, since light itself is fairly quiet. A sports car's pop-up headlights flip up and down. Very retro. Dashboard switches and knobs are recorded inside a small hatchback, and a long line of motorcycles, from mopeds up to big touring bikes, brings its own electrical and mechanical sounds. The oddball is an old military truck being hit with mallets.

Pop-up headlights are the showpiece here, recorded as part of a full sports car library with driving, pass-bys and interior foley around them. That's handy for a period car chase or a night drive, because the lights and the engine come from the same car. The interior switches and knobs suit a close-up of a hand reaching for the dash. On the bike side, several libraries give each Motorcycle mechanical and electrical recordings next to the foley, and there's more bike foley in Side Stand. The struck military truck is the strange one, with metal hits caught on contact mics and geophones that suit designed impacts better than a drive.
