Downshift Sound Effects

Downshift sound effects come as part of bigger motorcycle and racing libraries rather than a set of their own. Sport bikes idling and revving, an adventure bike recorded through every gear, and race cars on track from practice to the race itself. Lots of passes. They suit chase scenes and racing games, and anything with a hard corner coming up.

A downshift is the drop to a lower gear, usually while braking for a corner, so the revs jump up as the lower gear goes in. Racing riders and drivers often blip the throttle on the way down to match the revs. In these libraries it sits inside the bigger recordings. The adventure bike was recorded through every gear from several perspectives, engine and exhaust, with steady RPM loops alongside, and the race car sets catch on-track passes, where gear changes come with the corners. For the slowing down itself, Deceleration carries on from here. The sport bike recordings add starts, stops and stalls, handy when a rider pulls up in a hurry.
