Dirt Sound Effects

Dirt sound effects: the ground underfoot and everything that lands on it. Boots crunching along a dirt track, running feet kicking up grit. Dust and loose soil settling once something's been dug or dropped. Then the violent kind, bullets thudding into packed earth and throwing it up in little bursts. Unglamorous, and every outdoor scene needs it.

Dirt is mostly a footstep surface, and plenty of the libraries here treat it that way, with Walk and Run takes on dirt paths alongside other ground types. Dry dirt is crunchy. Damp dirt is duller and stickier, closer to mud. Games also use dirt for building and gathering, and for bullet hits that need a puff of earth rather than a ricochet. War films lean on that last bit.
