Run Sound Effects

Run sound effects, footsteps at full pace. Sprinting down a corridor and jogging along a forest path. A soldier running with kit bouncing on every stride. Faster footsteps are hard to fake, because the weight lands differently. Lots of surfaces, too. Out of breath just listening.

A running footstep is a different animal from a fast walk. The foot lands harder and further forward. The gaps between steps shrink too. That's why the footstep libraries record runs separately, across lots of surfaces and footwear, often with a Walk and a sneak to match. Loops help for long chases. Stops and turns matter too, and a Pivot or a hard stop sells a change of direction. Chase scenes and action games burn through these.
