Coal Sound Effects

Coal sound effects from the pit to the fire. Giant excavators and conveyors clattering away at a surface mine, then the echo of the shafts underground. Dusty work. Above ground, the machines coal kept running: steam engines puffing and purring, and steam trains heard from the driver's cab and the carriages, with a blacksmith's forge and a campfire alongside.

The mine recordings come from a surface mine and an underground mine, both normally closed to the public, and there's more digging in Mining. The surface clatter suits big industrial wide shots, and the underground ambience takes over once the cage goes down. On the steam side, the cab recordings put you next to the driver, with plenty more puffing in Steam. The stationary engines bring the purr of old machinery into a workshop or engine house scene.
