Valve Sound Effects

Valve sound effects for anything that holds back steam or air and then lets it go. Steam machines and compressed air, hydraulics and gas boiler rooms, with pistons and gears working around them. Steampunk takes a big share, in raw recordings and designed ones. Lots of hiss. Scuba gear and geothermal industry turn up too.

Valve recordings are mostly about what gets through: a burst of Steam or a blast of compressed air, with hydraulics hissing as they work. The steampunk libraries build whole machines from it, with gears, pistons, clockwork and steam as loops and single hits, which suits Victorian contraptions and airship engine rooms. The industrial side is plainer. Boiler rooms and a hydraulic lift sit closer to a working Factory, and designed thrusters and engine whistles take the same idea into sci-fi. Whatever the valve is on, the release is the part worth getting right, since that's where the pressure shows.
