Ember Sound Effects

Ember sound effects, the quiet end of a fire, when the flames have gone and the glow is all that's left. The soft crackle of a campfire burning down, and a stove ticking as the metal expands. Small and warm. When it's time to put it out, there's the hiss of a fire being doused. Matches and lighters are here too, for the spark that starts it all.

Embers are mostly small pops and the odd crackle with long gaps between them, which is exactly why they work under quiet dialogue. A big roaring fire covers everything. A dying one leaves room. The close campfire recordings and a stove with its door shut give you the best Crackle for it, and if rain hits the coals, a soft Sizzle sells it. Campfire scenes and cosy interiors use them most.
