Here we have captured the sound of a very special Mazda Rx-8.
It is built from a streetcar to be an extreme track car for use only at track days and for racing.
It has the very famous Mazda rotary (Wankel) engine and this one is a real high performance version.
This car has a very special sound with lots of interesting details such as turbo noise (wastegate) and backfires.
We have recorded a whole outing on a track day and you can hear everything from start, idle, revving, track driving to engine stop and it even includes a couple of missed gearshifts.
The recording consists of eight channels left-right exhaust, left-right interior, surround left-right interior and two engine channels.
