Woodpecker Sound Effects

Woodpecker sound effects, heard the way you'd come across them, hammering away somewhere in a wood. They turn up in forest and dawn ambiences among blackbirds and owls, in pine and mixed woodland through the seasons. No people about. Some sets go further afield, and a synthesised version covers a stylised forest.

Woodpeckers hammer on wood most in spring, to claim a territory, and all year round to find food, so several of these recordings sit in spring woodland at Dawn and through the day. The woodpecker is rarely alone. Owls take over at night, and a Blackbird or a robin carries on around it, which makes these ambiences right for a forest walk, a cabin in the woods or a game level set among the trees. For a stylised world, the synthesised nature set builds its wildlife from scratch.
