Turn Sound Effects

Turn sound effects for anything that rotates or carves. A key in a lock. Click. Pages turned and cards flipped over on a table, a dial clicking round, skis carving a long turn down the mountain and cars swinging round a corner with the tyres complaining all the way. Small word. Lots of ground.

Most turn sounds are about friction and clicks. A Lock turning has a small resistance before the click, and a knob or a Handle has its own little ratchet that sells the movement. On the snow, a turn is a long hiss that builds as the edge digs in. In a car it's the tyres, with drifts at the far end. Card and puzzle games use turns for flipping pieces, where a soft whoosh and a tap do the job.
