Scope Sound Effects

Scope sound effects for the quiet bit before the shot. Turret clicks as the sight gets dialled in, small adjustments and the metal handling around them, then the rifle itself. Sniper rifles mostly, with suppressed and subsonic shots that keep things hushed. Military interface sounds sit alongside for games where the player zooms in.

In a sniper scene the scope does a lot of the storytelling. Each click of the turret shows the shooter making a decision, so those small, dry clicks often get pushed far louder than they'd ever be in real life. Games lean on it too, from a Sniper Rifle zoom to a Night Vision sight flicking on. The scope in sound gets heard constantly, so it has to be short and clean. The handling recordings cover scopes alongside silencers and magazines.
