Rapids Sound Effects

Rapids sound effects for water in a hurry. Mountain rivers and powerful rapids, recorded close up and from further away. Loud water. Gentler creeks and streams sit alongside for when the river calms down, and some sets go further, with waterfalls and a river in flood, or frozen streams and icicles dripping onto snow.

Rapids fill a mix fast, so how far away they were recorded matters. Close up, they suit a rafting scene or a character crossing on stepping stones. From further back they sit under dialogue on the bank. The river sets offer both, with medium rivers and large streams recorded close and distant, and some of them loop, which lets a game level by a River run as long as it needs. A few mountain recordings keep the odd bird in, which saves building that layer separately, and the gentler Creek recordings give the same place a quieter stretch downstream.
