Predator Sound Effects

Predator sound effects from things that hunt. Bears growling and snarling, a bird of prey calling overhead, big meat-eating dinosaurs roaring and breathing, plus monsters and zombies for the made-up kind. Low and menacing. Most of it sits right in the throat, which is where a predator's warning lives.

A predator's sound tells you how big it is and how close. Deep, breathy growls read as big and near, and a Sniff in the dark reads as nearer still. A thin cry high above reads as something circling. The bear recordings are the most useful real source here, with growls, snarls, barks, grunts and sniffs across several species, cubs and adults. Creature designers lean on them when building monsters, layering a real Growl under something pitched or processed. That's how a lot of film monsters got their voices.
