Eating Sound Effects

Eating sound effects for people and animals, monsters included. Crunchy snacks and rustling packets, knives and forks in a busy restaurant, cats tucking into a bowl and livestock munching away. Then the creature side, where something large eats something it shouldn't. Messily. Close mics make all the difference with food, and the snack recordings get right in there.

Eating is hard to get right in foley, because every bite and chew has to sit just so. It's tricky. Too close and it turns gross, too far and nobody believes the actor is chewing. The snack libraries give you bites and crunches alongside packaging and drinks, and Chew and Swallow cover the quieter moments in between. Animals are their own thing. Cats are dainty and wet while livestock are loud and steady, and creature designers often borrow from both before pitching everything down.
