Monster Voice Sound Effects

Monster Voice sound effects, mostly performed by voice actors pushing their throats a long way. Zombie groans and hisses, troll and orc roars, battle cries, whole hordes moaning together. Then the cartoon side: grumpy gremlins and cute aliens talking in their own made-up language. Some are scary. Some are daft on purpose.

A monster voice usually starts as a human one. Growls and roars get performed close to the mic, then pitched down or layered with animal sounds until the person disappears. Plenty here works straight away, and a Roar can always take another layer if the creature is bigger than the actor. The cartoon voices go further, with whole emotions and Gibberish lines, so a character can laugh and get Hurt in a voice that stays consistent. Games lean on that. An enemy needs a lot of reactions, and they all have to come out of the same throat.
