McLaren Sound Effects

McLaren sound effects for when the scene needs something low, mid-engined and very fast. Twin-turbo supercars recorded onboard and from outside, through full throttle pulls and pass-bys. The cabin gets its own treatment, captured all around the driver's seat. Then trackside, GT racing cars come howling past at close range.

The exhaust carries most of the character in a McLaren, as in any Sports Car, and the road car recordings put microphones right on it, alongside the engine and the cabin. Line them up and you choose how much raw exhaust to let into the mix. The cabin recordings come in a surround format you can turn in post, handy for a driving game camera or a VR seat. The trackside sets are a different animal, the sound you'd hear from the Pit Lane wall: racing cars passing at speed on private track days, recorded close to the barrier. Good for a tense last lap.
