GUNFIRE Sound Effects

GUNFIRE sound effects from close by to the far side of a valley. Distant rifle reports and artillery roll through the terrain. Battlefield ambiences come in different weather and intensities, and heavy bombardment brings long tails. In town, a battle rifle, a submachine gun and a machine gun are recorded from several positions in streets and industrial spaces.

Gunfire in a war scene is mostly about distance. Close shots carry the action, and the far ones build the war around it, which is what the distant recordings do, with rifle reports and detonations rolling across open ground. Urban recordings put the same guns in different streets and buildings, so a firefight can move through town without changing weapons. Heavy guns get their own room. A wartime Howitzer fires blanks with wild foley around it, and the bombardment recordings give shells with long tails from more than one position. The battlefield ambiences tie it together, in different weather, from quiet holding cells to full chaos.
