Muzzle Blast Sound Effects

Muzzle Blast sound effects come here inside bigger collections of guns and cannons. Black powder muskets and flintlocks fire alongside field and naval cannons. Then the wartime guns. A howitzer and a tank destroyer's cannon fire blanks, and an automatic rifle runs through single shots and bursts, all recorded from many positions and distances. Shotguns close it out.

A muzzle blast is the bang at the gun itself, the gas leaving the barrel, which is separate from the crack of a bullet further downrange. So it changes most with where the mic is. The wartime recordings were made on many channels at once, close and far, so the same shot can sit right at the muzzle or out down the range, and they come with Wild Foley too. Black powder adds the build-up and the aftermath, a ramrod and powder pouring before the shot and cannonballs hitting water or stone after it. Shotguns bring pump actions and shell loading, for a closer kind of fight.
