Corridor Sound Effects

Corridor sound effects for the spaces between rooms. Empty school corridors in the holidays, hotel corridors late at night with the ventilation ticking over and a lift moving somewhere, and the quiet corridors of a courthouse. Mostly room tone, with the odd door creak. Then the loud side: gunshots and explosions recorded indoors, so a firefight in a corridor gets the right slap back off the walls.

A corridor is long, hard and narrow, so it carries sound further than a room does and colours it on the way. That's why a room tone recorded in a real corridor sits better under dialogue than a generic interior. The quiet ones are full of small detail: ventilation, distant traffic, an Elevator working, a bit of electrical buzz. Pick by the building as much as the corridor, because a Hotel at night and a school in the holidays feel nothing alike. Some come in ambisonics, ready for surround or VR. On the action side, the indoor gunshots and explosions come at several distances, so a shot can land beside the camera or at the far end.
