Cloth Sound Effects

Cloth sound effects, the quiet layer under every moving character. Jackets rustling as arms swing and a coat shrugged on. Zips tearing open. In fights, the whip of fabric on every punch makes a hit feel bigger. Pirate sails and medieval gear for the period pieces. Without cloth, a character sounds stiff.

Cloth foley usually goes in right after footsteps, and it does a lot of work. A character moving with no cloth sounds like a cardboard cutout. Add a little Fabric movement and they're alive. Material matters too. Cotton stays soft, while Leather creaks. The clothing libraries cover handling in detail, from zips to whole garments dropped on the floor, and game foley sets give clean, short movement sounds for characters who never stop running. Fight libraries layer cloth whooshes under punches to make them land harder.
