Swipe Sound Effects

Swipe sound effects cover a finger flicking across a screen, and the bigger kind that sweeps a whole scene away. Short, soft and quick on a phone menu. Longer and airier on a video transition. Some are clean digital sweeps, some cartoon zips, some real whooshes with air in them. Length sets the feel: a short swipe reads as a tap, a long one as a change of scene.

In an app, a swipe sound follows the gesture, so it needs to be short and light enough that nobody gets sick of it after a few pages. Most UI libraries here pair swipes with taps and toggles from the same family, which keeps a whole Interface sounding consistent. Screen transitions are a different job. There the swipe carries the cut, so it can be longer and wider, and a lot of editors reach for a soft Whoosh and pitch it to the move. Cartoon swipes add a zip or a squeak for comedy. Slow swipes work for page turns and card reveals. They all suit games, apps, explainers and social video, and every library is royalty-free for commercial work.
