Whoosh Sound Effects

Whoosh sound effects for anything that moves fast enough to push air. Sword swings and punches cutting past, fireballs roaring by, logos and titles flying across the screen, menu panels sliding in. Some are recorded from real objects swung past a mic. Plenty are designed and sweetened. Short ones, long ones, soft UI flicks and huge cinematic passes.

For interface work, a UI whoosh wants to be short and soft, finished before the panel stops moving. Anything longer starts to drag. The motion graphics and game UI sets here cover that, along with swipes and Transition moves for video edits. Combat whooshes are heavier, built to sit under a hit so a punch or blade feels fast. Then there are the big designed passes with a Riser feel, which suit trailers and magic. A good trick: match the whoosh's length to the movement on screen, and pan it the same way. Lighter versions live in Swoosh.
