Suburb Sound Effects

Suburb sound effects live in the bit between the city and the fields. Quiet streets and back gardens, birds in the trees, the odd car going by and planes in the distance. Then the people: cyclists, rollerbladers and somebody out in a canoe. Rain and thunder over the rooftops too. It suits family dramas, and horror that starts in a nice cul-de-sac.

A lot of a suburb happens at a distance: vehicles somewhere down the road and a Plane far overhead, with birds and leaves closer in. Long takes help. Some of these follow a small suburb right through day and night, weather and wildlife included, while others catch heavy wind in the trees by a forest preserve or calm water with birds and passing cyclists. For bad weather, the backyard rain was recorded clean, some of it from inside a tin shed, with distant Thunder rolling round. It all suits the quiet street a story starts on, and the night something goes wrong there.
