Ricochet Sound Effects

Ricochet sound effects for bullets that hit something hard and keep going. Real gunfire libraries bring impacts and flybys across metal, rock, concrete, wood and glass, and some whole sets are given over to aggressive ricochets alone. Then there's the other kind. Cartoon and retro anime zings, for when nobody is meant to get hurt.

A ricochet is mostly about what the bullet hits. Metal rings and whines, rock and concrete crack and spit grit, and soft ground barely answers at all. That's why the bullet impact sets split their recordings by surface, with flybys alongside for the rounds that miss, and more incoming rounds land in Bullet. Layered under a Gun shot, a ricochet tells the audience how close it came, and in a firefight a few well placed whines off metal do more than wall to wall gunfire. On the lighter side, the cartoon and anime packs give the classic zing for animation and retro games.
