Machine Gun Sound Effects

Machine Gun sound effects, from short controlled bursts to the long, rattling roar of a belt-fed gun that won't stop. Rare weapons recorded outdoors. Full auto loops and bursts, plus the bolt and the brass raining down afterwards. And for the less realistic end, steampunk contraptions, sci-fi cannons, anime blasters and retro arcade rattles.

A machine gun is mostly about rate of fire and the space around it. Slow, heavy guns thump. Fast ones turn into a tearing buzz. Recorded outdoors, the tail of each shot rolls off hills and buildings, and that echo is what makes it sound big. A Burst is easier to cut into a scene than a long loop, so most game teams mix both. Shell casings bouncing on the ground finish it off. Lighter automatic fire sits in Submachine Gun. War films and shooters use these by the crate.
