Infant Sound Effects

Infant sound effects recorded with real babies, close and gentle. Coos and gurgles, little breaths and yawns, plus full crying when someone needs feeding. Some are very young, others are older babies and toddlers finding their voice. It's the stuff that's hard to get any other way, because babies don't do takes.

Productions use infant recordings all the time, since a real Baby on set rarely cries on cue. Close, clean recordings let an editor lay a cry or a coo under a doll or an off-screen cot and keep it believable. There's a sneakier use too. Gurgles and cries, pitched and layered, make surprisingly good raw material for creatures and alien voices.
