Baby Sound Effects

Baby sound effects from real babies, from the newborn weeks onwards. Coos, babbles, giggles and cries. Sleepy breaths and yawns. Feeding and sleeping recorded at home, plus the kit that comes with a baby, prams and toys. Some sets go older, with small children babbling and chatting in nonsense words rather than any real language.

A newborn and a toddler sound nothing alike, so the age of the baby on screen decides where to start. The newborn recordings cover Crying, feeding and sleep, made at home rather than in a studio, while the older babies bring babbles, giggles and baby talk. The studio set goes the other way. It's dry, so a baby can drop into any room and take on that room's sound, and it adds whimpers and a Cough or two. The children's recordings use nonsense words rather than any real language, and their pitch can be shifted to play a little younger or older. Prams and toys round things out for a nursery or a walk in the park.
