Flutter Sound Effects

Flutter sound effects for anything that flaps or wobbles fast. A lot of it is designed: whooshes and transitions with a flutter built into the movement. Indoors, real wind frets at the windows. Then the wings, from bees up close at the hive to bats, and some oddballs: paper textures and the wobble of worn-out tape. Never still for long.

Flutter means a quick, flapping or wavering movement, and on tape it means a fast wobble in pitch. Close bee recordings give you the delicate wing movement and the hive's Buzz, and there's a full Swarm when things get out of hand. Lovely, if you're not allergic. The transition sets put a flutter inside a Swoosh, so a menu slide or a title card feels alive rather than smooth. Wind through window gaps adds a softer kind for interiors. Insect wings pitch up nicely into fairies and down into something you'd rather not meet. They suit animation, motion graphics, nature films and creature design.
