Dripping Sound Effects

Dripping sound effects for the damp places. Water dripping in caves and dungeon cells with a long echo after every drop, and rain running off the gutters after a storm has passed. Then the nastier kind, blood dripping in a horror scene. Slow and patient. A good drip is all about the gap between drops, and these leave you plenty of room.

Drips are a tension tool. A steady drip in a quiet room makes an audience wait for the next drop, and the space around it says how big and empty the place is. The cave and dungeon recordings come with that space built in, and some come dry as well, so the same drop can go into a room of your own. Rain recorded indoors adds drips running off windows and roofs. Synthetic water textures are the designed side, for documentaries and fantasy games. When the water needs to go somewhere it runs to a Drain, and when it lands harder it becomes a Splash. Horror games use drips more than anyone.
