Drill Sound Effects

Drill sound effects from the workshop and the flat next door. Cordless drivers whirring screws home and hammer drills biting into masonry, recorded close or from across the room. Then the drill heard through a wall, a neighbour's renovation leaking into the apartment, muffled and relentless. Very familiar. Dentists not included.

A drill has a clear arc: the trigger, the motor whining up, the bit catching and the pitch dropping under load, then the release. Wood and concrete pull it down differently, which is why good recordings tell you what's being drilled. The tool libraries here cover drills alongside the rest of the shed, from the Hammer to the Circular Saw, and the construction sets put a Power Tool in a working site with everything else going on. The through-the-wall recordings are a separate treat. They're apartment room tones with the neighbours renovating, with the window open or closed, ready to drop under a scene that needs to feel cramped. Sitcoms and horror both use them, for very different reasons.
