Yeti sound effects for big, hairy, ape-like monsters. Real voice actors gave it everything: roars, growls, grunts, gasps, breaths, snores and mumbles, designed into a properly cinematic creature. There's a friendly cartoon yeti in there too. Layered yeti footsteps come from a separate foley set.
Because these started as human performances, they carry breath and emotion, which suits a creature that thinks. They were recorded to take heavy pitching, so you can drop them a long way before they fall apart. The same voices work for a Humanoid monster, a Bigfoot or any ape-like beast. The foley set adds slimy movement and mechanical bits for whatever else is lurking in the snow.
