Wheel Sound Effects

Wheel sound effects for anything that rolls or turns. Carriage wheels rumbling along behind a horse, and skateboard wheels roaring on concrete. Racing tyres squeal through a corner. Then the wheels you turn rather than ride, a ship's wheel creaking on deck and clockwork wheels ticking round. Lots of rolling.

A wheel is really the surface it rolls on. Wooden carriage wheels on a rough road sound nothing like a skateboard on smooth concrete. So these come with the surface attached, from a horse-drawn carriage recorded with mics on board and following behind, to a board with a mic stuck right on it. For speed there are motorbikes and racing cars, where the wheels Skid and the tyres scrub. On the turning side, a ship's wheel and the little wheels inside a clock are slower and more mechanical, and Spin carries on from there. Period dramas need the carriages. Skate videos and racing games need the rest.
