Voice Sound Effects

Voice sound effects for everything a person says without quite saying anything. Battle shouts, death screams, laughs and grunts from male and female actors. Cartoon voices squeaking and gasping. Then the gibberish that plays as text scrolls across a game screen, and a few real words, like a calm British voice calling chess moves.

Non-verbal voice work carries a lot of story. A Grunt tells you how heavy a sword is. A sharp breath tells you someone's hurt before they reach for the wound, and a proper scream of Pain leaves no doubt. Many of these libraries have actors performing the same reactions again and again, so a game can pick a different take each time without sounding repetitive. For the words themselves, battle Command lines give a squad leader something to bark. Cartoon voices push everything bigger, which is the whole point.
