Tape Sound Effects

Tape sound effects of both kinds, the sticky sort and the sort that holds a recording. Duct and parcel tape ripped off the roll and wrapped round things. Lots of tearing. Then magnetic tape: cassette decks and VCRs going through their mechanics, with tape noise and tracking errors from old VHS. One suits packing a parcel, the other a period piece.

Each kind of sticky tape is recorded in plenty of ways, pulled off the roll, peeled, torn, wrapped and crumpled up, which covers a parcel being taped shut or a busy office. The magnetic side is a different job. Here it's the machines: a Tape Recorder, cassette decks and VCRs working through their buttons and mechanics, plus tape noise and the tracking errors of old VHS. A Cassette deck starting up is a small sound, but it puts a scene in its decade straight away. They suit period dramas and found footage, and any scene where someone hits play on an old machine.
