Submarine Sound Effects

Submarine sound effects for life below the surface. Hydrophone recordings, propellers churning, bubbles and the low, heavy hum of deep water. Inside the hull it's vents humming and metal creaking under pressure. There are designed abyssal rumbles for when the scene goes dark, and futuristic underwater craft for sci-fi. Military subs turn up among the warfare sounds too.

A submarine scene is mostly built rather than recorded on a real boat. The tension comes from what's around the crew: a hull that groans, a low drone that never quite stops, then the ping of Sonar cutting through and maybe a Torpedo on its way. Outside, it's hydrophone recordings and Underwater textures, with propeller wash going past. Low-end material does a lot of the work, so a decent subwoofer helps when you listen.
