Subaru Sound Effects

Subaru sound effects with that offbeat boxer burble. Turbocharged sports sedans recorded inside and out, starting up, idling, pulling hard and passing at speed, plus an older family car on snow tyres. Horns and the odd whistle from the turbo come along too. Rally car noise, for the road.

That burble comes from the boxer engine. Its cylinders lie flat, and on older cars the exhaust pipes from each side are different lengths, so the pulses arrive unevenly. Newer engines smoothed it out, so the older cars have the strongest burble. These come with onboard and exterior mics, steady speeds, manoeuvres and Drive By passes, with the Turbocharger whooshing away underneath. Rally games and car chases use them most.
