Speed Sound Effects

Speed sound effects for anything that needs to feel fast. Engines roaring past, from muscle cars to motorbikes, trains thundering by on bridges and through tunnels, a motorboat opening up across the water, and spaceships ripping past with a proper Doppler swing. Some come from odder places: power tools and grinders spinning up, handy when speed needs a sharper edge.

Speed on screen is mostly about change. A steady engine drone sounds parked. A rising pitch or a Doppler drop as something passes is what tells the ear something is moving, and a Passenger Train or a Motorboat going by does it with real weight. That's why pass-bys are so useful, and why designers often stack a real engine with a sci-fi whoosh to make a car feel faster than it is. The tool and grinder recordings work for small, whiny speed, like a drone or a toy racing by.
