Shore Sound Effects

Shore sound effects from wherever water meets land. Big waves rolling onto sandy beaches, gentle lapping on rocky shores, calm water gurgling between rocks and stormy surf crashing against a pier. Lakes and coves too, not just the sea. Some takes are pure water with nothing else in them. Others bring summer crowds, seaside villages and early mornings with nobody about.

A shoreline does a lot of work in a mix. Distant waves give a coastal scene its size, while close lapping and splashes against rocks put the camera right at the water's edge. The rougher end lives in Surf. Pure water recordings with no birds or people are the easiest to cut, because nothing gives the edit away. When a scene needs life, the beach crowds and seaside cafés build it up, and takes at different distances and in different weather help match a wide shot and a close up on the same stretch of Beach. For calmer water there's lake and river shore too, some with wind blowing across it.
