Rock Impact Sound Effects

Rock Impact sound effects, from small stones to boulders. Big rocks thumping into the ground, smaller ones clacking together, whole piles tumbling down a slope and dragging through grass. Dull and heavy. That's the trick, because a rock that rings sounds fake. Alongside the real recordings sit a few game sets where rocky hits are part of the mix, for strategy and fantasy work.

Most rock recordings break down into impacts and the bits that come after. A boulder landing is only part of the sound. The trickle of Debris settling afterwards is what makes it feel real, and the libraries here record both, at different sizes and strengths. For bigger slides, with the hillside itself moving, there's Landslide. Some sets go further with smashes of brick and dirt, which blur into Rubble work. Cave-ins and stone golems use them, and so does any game where a tower gets knocked down.
