Reverb Sound Effects

Reverb sound effects, where the space is as much a part of the sound as the source. Screams echoing down a tunnel. Water dripping in a cave, with wet and dry versions side by side. Whooshes and breaths drenched in a long tail for transitions. Wind rumbling down a chimney. Sometimes the tail is the whole point, and the dry hit is just there to start it.

Reverb tells the audience how big a space is before they see it. A short, tight reflection says a small room. A long wash says a cave, or the inside of someone's head. The recordings here come with the space baked in, real tunnels and caves alongside designed tails on whooshes and breaths that bloom out for trailers and dream sequences. Where a sound comes wet and dry, that's the useful bit, because you can match the space to your own scene or run the dry take through a Convolution reverb instead. In Horror, a long tail does a lot of the work, turning an ordinary scream into something that seems to come from everywhere. Trailers lean on the big tails for transitions.
