Miata Sound Effects

Miata sound effects recorded on the real roadster, across different generations of it. A rev-happy little engine with a raspy exhaust, captured onboard and from outside. Starts, idles, revs and pass-bys. Then the bits that make it a Miata: the click of the short-throw shifter and the soft-top latches.

The engine, exhaust and cabin are recorded in sync, so a mix can slide from the wind-blown outside to the tight little cabin without a jump. Exterior takes cover pass-bys at slow, medium and high speed, static revs and low-speed car park manoeuvres. The foley goes deep. Bonnet, boot lid, fuel filler door, power windows and the Convertible roof all get a turn. It suits coastal road trips, nimble city driving and racing games that want a light Roadster instead of a muscle car.
